Whole Bean

You grind at home, right before brewing. Choose Whole Bean if you own a grinder. Grinding just before brewing lets you match the grind to whatever brewer you are using that day.

The grinder

Whole Bean is the coffee untouched. You grind it at home, right before brewing — the grinder, not the bag, sets the grind.

Match the grind to the brewer

The grind follows the brewer, not the bag. Medium for drip machines and pour-over brewers. Fine for espresso machines. Coarse for cold-brew steeping. One bag of Whole Bean covers all three — you set the grinder for the brewer you are using that day.

Wrong grind, wrong cup: too fine for your brewer and the water stalls; too coarse and it rushes through under-extracted. When in doubt, start from the brewer.

Keep it fresh

Whole Bean stays freshest when you grind only what you are about to brew. Keep opened bags sealed and away from heat and light.

Every roast, whole bean

Every roast in the Granary is sold as a 12 oz bag in Whole Bean — blends and single origins alike.
