The grind
Medium. Paper-filter brewing wants a grind the water can pass through evenly — not so fine that it stalls, not so coarse that it rushes past the grounds.
The brewer
Drip machines and pour-over brewers take the same Drip grind. Both are paper-filter brewing: the water passes through the grounds and out the filter, and the medium grind is what keeps that passage even.
The method
Wrong grind, wrong cup: too fine for your brewer and the water stalls; too coarse and it rushes through under-extracted. When in doubt, start from the brewer — the guide follows the brewer, not the bag.
